Hey there! This blog has been created by 3 siblings and dedicated to our grandma who was recently diagnosed with fast progressing dementia. It has been a very difficult time for us because we are so close to our grandma, so we have banded together to start a blog and try and keep the family stronger than ever! We are aiming to talk about elderly care because this has been our life for the past year, interior design, which is Mollie’s profession, and financial tips, which is Cameron’s profession. However, we will also be talking about a variety of other things that we are interested in and care about.
Introducing ‘By Grandchildren’
Cameron, 25
Hey, I’m Cam one of the three siblings. I am a financial planner, which is why I will be talking about financial tips that could benefit you with your lifestyle. It is so important to budget and manages your money effectively so you can make the most out of your life without stressing too much about incoming funds. I will also be talking about the best ways to help your grandparents when they are suffering from illnesses like dementia to get the best help that they possibly can, in order to live the rest of their lives as comfortably as possible. I remember when I was younger that my grandma was my best friend, we used to go for walks, read books, and go on all kinds of adventures! Sitting next to her and her not being able to recognize me is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, I just hope that our blog can help others who are also struggling with this particular family dilemma.
Mollie, 22
Hiya! I am the middle child, which is either the worst thing or the best thing depending on what your family is like! For me, I often found that I got blamed for everything as was probably grounded the most out of us three. I am also an interior designer, in a business that my mom started about 10 years ago. I love working alongside my mom, we are a super close family so we always have so much fun when we’re all together! My mom often leaves me to do most of the designing whilst she sorts out the financials and customer-facing side of the business, I love my job and I hope to share so tips with you guys about how you can redesign your home in the most fabulous way! Our blog is dedicated to our grandma who I believe to be one of the strongest women in the world, even when she doesn’t recognize us she still somehow manages to joke around, and then at least we still see little snippets of her. We always try to make her as comfortable as possible, but we know that it can be incredibly hard, we feel that we have become professionals at caring for my grandma so we felt writing some tips in a blog might help other people going through the same thing.

Hey, I am the baby of the family and I have to tell you being the youngest does have its perks (which annoys my brother and sister so much). I wanted to be a part of this blog so I could contribute to helping other families who have a grandparent suffering from something like dementia or Parkinson’s disease. I am studying in high school at the moment but I aspire to become anything in healthcare that supports people who are struggling because I just know that my grandma would want her disease to be turned into something that could be used for good. My interests include soccer, reading, and I have been known to bake some of the best cookies in my town, haha. This blog will have a lot of cool stuff written so stick around and enjoy!
